My four rainbow quilts

I usually say no to custom quilt requests (I like making what I want to make and I also like simple :-) but when a request for four quilts came in that were “colourful, joyful, close enough to tell they belong to a set but also different, nothing that screams boy or girl” (and the fact they were also baby quilts), I had to say yes! And here are the details of the four quilts I made (using one bundle) so you can make some for you too!

I used the 25 piece rainbow bundle from Scribbly Gum Quilt Co across all four quilts- I actually curated this bundle when I owned Scribbly Gum and it’s still a staple bundle :-)

I used almost all of each of the fat quarters - in total, you can get (6) 3” x 21” strips from each FQ (25 strips in total) - and some of my strips took up slightly less. So in total I had 150 strips to play with

Quilt 1 (top left): I made the stripy quilt (I’ve just added the tutorial which you can find here) which requires (32) 3”x 21” strips of fabric

Quilt 2 (top right): I made the squares rainbow quilt (I’ve just added the tutorial which you can find here) which requires (225) 3” x 3” squares. So from my remaining fabric, I cut (1) 3” x 21” strip where I had only 3” left or (2) 3” x 21” strips where I had 6” of the fat quarter left.

Quilt 3 (bottom left): I used my Small Squares Quilt Pattern and used (32) 3” x 21” strips of fabric from across the 25 fat quarters (1 strip from 18 fat quarters and 2 strips from 7 fat quarters).

Quilt 4 (bottom right): I used my Scrappy Flowers Double Irish Quilt pattern which requires (25) 2.5” x 21” strips- I used 25 strips, one from each fat quarter!
