What fabric did you use in X quilt?

Good question! For my of my quilts, I purchase fabric from Scribbly Gum Quilt Co and they often sell quilts of the kits I make. For any quilt that is made of linen, I generally have purchased these fabrics from Taiwan or Japan and don’t have the colour names. Feel free to contact me with a specific quilt and I’ll try to help :-)

What needle and thread do you use for hand quilting?

Thread- my favourite is DMC Perle 8 or Sashiko Thread - It’s a bit thicker than a standard machine thread and gives a really traditional yet timeless look. I often use a cream or white but have recently started using more contrasting colours to really show off the hand quilting

Needles- my favourite to use is Tulip Hiroshima needles- they are nice and long, not too sharp and have a decent eye for easy threading

Do you make custom quilts?

Sometimes… if it’s a remake of an existing quilt or something in just a few colours, it’s likely a yes! I get nervous making something with little guidance “eg I want a quilt with lots of blues and purples” because I’m worried it won’t look how you are imagining it to look and I don’t want anyone to feel disappointed :-) Feel free to contact me with more questions.

It many cases it may have gone to your junk or spam folders but if you can’t find it, feel free to contact me directly and I’ll send you a copy :-)

I’m a beginner quilter and not sure how to do step X

I’m always happy to answer questions but you’ll likely find much better answers (and diagrams/ photos) in my Quilt 101 tutorials :-)
