My two St Louis 16 Patch quilts

I don’t have a number one favourite quilt of all time but I must admit that both of my St Louis 16 patch quilts are high up on the list of all time favourites. Simple, fun and quick to make, low fabric waste and just generally a lovely finish!

For my first St Louis 16 patch quilt, I made it in super bed size (it's 80" x 96" and fits perfectly on our king bed. I’ve written a pattern if you want to make your own which you can purchase here :-) I used the Heiress to a Shipping Fortune bundle (30 fat quarters). You can find the fabric requirements below

I hand quilted it and used a small bowl to trace the curves (and used a water erasable marker to mark these). Altogether, it took me about 3 months of on and off quilting to hand quilt but I did have some significant breaks during that time.

My second one is also a super bed size and it’s still a work in progress- just a little more quilting to go, then binding and I’ll be done! I started with this bundle from Scribbly Gum Quilt Co.

I’m using my favourite big zag zag quilting for all that texture- I can’t wait to finish this one! :-)
